Change is in the air.
I’m not an emotional person and I don’t get swept up easily but last night I was moved.
Moved that for one of the first time we get to see a black family who loves each other, a black woman who relishes in h er role as a wife, mother, and career woman.
I have to say that I’m proud to be an American on this day. Proud to see the conglomeration of people who voted that were a plethora of age, race, sex and economical background.
Honestly, nothing brought me more joy than to see the goings on in Ebenezer Church. For all that don’t know, Ebenezer is Martin Luther King’s church; well, they had a celebration but what sticks out most of my mind is not all the black folks out there getting their gospel one but this one young, white male in the audience getting his dance ON. He was working it hard.
That’s what it’s about. People who are just happy, who are thankful that there will be a change.
I have a renewed sense of hope not because I think Obama will save us – because he won’t – but that we can move hopefully move forward united.
Not to mention, I came into work this morning and saw this lovely note from my boss. This is the proof that Obama reaches people outside of his “would be” demographic.
